Does the use of keywords in the domain name help with search engine ranking?

For example: Consider a site with content about red aluminum widgets.

Would the domain name RedAluminumWidgetscom rank higher in search than GenericNamecom if both sites had the same content?

Hi, gabby, and welcome to webmasterworld! Yes, keywords in the urls do help with the rankings. Which means you can also - should also - use them in your file names and directory names. Therefore you don't need them in your domain name, but it doesn't hurt...
