Domain Reseller Programs - but parent company is in whois

Is it a legal requirement that the reseller is not listed?

Is it a legal requirement that companies offering domain reseller packages have their own name in the whois output as the registrar. Obviously as a reseller you'd like your own company name in the output ideally rather than the company you have the reseller package from?

First I've heard of it. AFAIK, the WHOIS is supposed to indicate the real owner, not the reseller.

Also, there are no "legal" requirements on domain registrations, simply the terms of service under which the domain is provided to you. (Excluding country specific domains)

Agreed. Whoever is listed as the registrant name,
though, is the "legal" owner of the domain name,
no ifs ands or buts.
