New Domain Name

I was browsing the excellent **** looking for a new domain-name. I was surprised to find that red-widgets.com was available so i registered it.
Now i find that redwidgets.com already exists and is trading in the same sector. Any ideas where i stand with my new domain? i think i can't use it.

Be aware that offline advertising may pose problems, because if typeins forget the hyphen they'll end up at your competitor.

Bought one once firm using .org, I bought .org.uk any way the number of people sending email incorrectly was amazing.

Received one from a board member laying out how they intended to annouce job cuts/depth of them etc... Which I promptly passed to their union, who were undieingly grateful.

You could end up with a letter from their lawyer, especially if you launch a site selling the same product types. That aside, I also agree that you're likely to actually send some traffic to them from direct type ins who forget the dash.
