My company owns a few domains for our website. We have purchased domains for different spellings of our company as well as all the suffixes that were available.

ex.
(cat.com, cat.net, cat.org, kat.com, kat.org, etc..)

My question is, what is best practice to have these all point to the same host sever for WWW. What I need is when someone type http://www.kat.net, cat.org, kat.com, etc in their address bar that they are directed to http://www.cat.com.

Do I create a primary zone with an A record for each variation of the domain name?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks...

There seems to be differing opinions on this. I would do the following... (another WW tip)

Have 2 IP addresses. Make one the main and the other a secondary. Point all except your main domain at the secondary IP and then 301 redirect to the main IP. Your main domain points to the main IP.

Here are a few WW links on this subject.
