I know a domain name originially registered via OpenSRS and Expired on 05-05. It's currently under Redemption and soon will be in PendingDelete.
I want to know the best way to get the domain. What do you guys suggest?

If the domain is very important to you, I suggest that you pay a small fee and make a backorder on that domain.

If you really want it, put all the drop catching services on it.
enom club drop, pool, snapnames, & namewinner are the main ones, but there are lots of smaller outfits as well who sometimes sneak a domain away from these companies.

Does anyone know the prices in the differen companies? Which is cheapest?

I really don't want to go there - it's too much like promoting an individual service, which we don't allow.

It's pointless to go for "the cheapest" since even if you book with ALL the services, you've probably got less than 50% chance of getting the domain (if it's of potential interest to many people) due to all the private drop-catchers.
If you pick just one drop catcher based on price, you're chopping that % right down towards zero.

I have tried to "catch" several domain names. Paid the backordering fees and have NEVER gotten a name. Is there any rhyme or reason to increase your odds such as certain registars get firts chance? Any information would be helpful.

Nice start, however, all my attempts have included godaddy. Anyone understand how this stuff works? Who sees what lists and are there people that can get a jump on a name? I know there have been people including myself that search for a domain name never used just to find it on a domain for sale site a few days later. This suggests someone has the ability to watch for "searched for" names. Are there people that can watch for domains about to expire AND beable to get a jump on other people?

Got one again yesterday, so that's 2 out of 2. (Godaddy)
The last one i got, i know for sure has been a popular site before, so i didn't really count on it, based on how hard i've heard it was to capture. Guess im just lucky, or maybe im stupid :-)

You might be stupid, but not without luck. I'm still hoping someone can answer my questions. Anyone?
