Hi,

I'am sorry for this dumb question, but I never transferred a .co.uk domain...

I have a huge problem transferring my co.uk domain from my old registrar (registerfly) to my new registrar(webfusion).

Webfusion says, unless your old webhoster gives the domain free, there is nothing we can do.

Registerfly says, that there is nothing we can do. Contact your new registrar.

Does anybody know what I have to do now and who is lying in this case? I transferred already more than 20 domains in my life, but is there anything special with co.uk domains?

It really is such a pain for me, b/c I need the domain asap.

Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Easyseb

It depends on what you mean by transfer to a new hoster.

If you are transferring the registering agent (i.e. moving to a new IPSTag) then the existing registrar will need to send a request to nominet to change the registrar.

If you are just moving hosting location then just point your DNS to the new server.

If you want to change the DNS servers - this needs to be done via the existing registrar.

Nominets page on making changes to your domain name should help
