Hey guys, Im new to all this, and these are probably silly questions, but I was just hoping someone could straighten me out.

I want to set up my own server, which will run Windows 2003 Server. I was also wanting to set up my own DNS Server. I believe this can be done in Windows 2003 Server with software that is part of the OS, but I dont know how to do it.

Also, Im not sure about setting it up. Do I register my domain name with a registrar, and then say that the name server is the IP of my server?

What about subdomains? How do I set them up, and their associated email aswell? (MX Records) Do I have to do anything to my domain registration at the registrar when I want to set up a subdomain, or do I just modify something in my DNS Server?

Thanks heaps,

-Steve
