Need help extending domain name registration

Wildwestdomains reseller cant be found!

I have a domain name I registered with a WildWestDomain reseller, he registered the domain name for me, using my information for both the administrative and technical contact details. The domain is now set to expire in just under a month and I need to extend the registration period - But I have a problem - I can't contact the reseller and I dont have access to the WildWestDomains control panel that would allow me to extend the reg period.

I've tried contacting wwd's directly to extend the registration period but they wont allow it. I've also tried transfering the domain name but to allow the transfer i have to log in to the wwd control panel that was used to register the name, which i dont have access too.

Any suggestions (or solutions:)) would be appreciated.

Can you update the contact information via email? You might be able to get the reseller's info off of it and then convince WWD to give you access to the control panel.

As far a I know i cant update the contact details via email, although they are correct, also I forgot to mention I am listed as the registrant.

bhartzer - I've phoned them a few times and have been bounced around their phone system, I just tried my last ditch attempt and got them to extend the registration period. Ive just faxed off a tranfer request so we'll wait and see, thanks for the help.

Considering how bad wildwestdomains is (stupid rules like no transfer 60 days after a WHOIS info change) you would have been better off just transferring the name ot a DECENT Registrar.

Yes.... It's EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that folks realize one salient point about domain-name registrations and registrars: YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE REGISTRATION ANYWHERE!

Just go to another registrar, give them the pertinent info, and transfer your domain-name registration to them. If their interface is confusing, email or phone them.

No one is handcuffed to a particular registrar any more!

Could be. Don't really know - I wouldn't give godaddy any space anywhere in my life or my webstuff.
