I more importantly need to know if there are any prices attributed with this facility since I am currently creating a quote for a client.
Has anyone here transferred out a domain from easyspace to another registrar?
As far as I's aware, there shouldn't be any charge for transferring out, but the Registrant of the domains will probably need to confirm the transfer. If you're not the Registrant, this could be a minor stumblimg block.
If - for argument's sake - push came to shove and you couldn't get this sorted out directly, there are alternatives.
For .UK domains, the Registrant can go directly to Nominet and request the IPS TAG be changed to whichever provider they specify. There is a nominal charge (£15 plus VAT) for this and it takes a little time to sort, but is a useful option.
For the .COM domain, have a look at the WHOIS record and see who's listed as the [b]administrative contact[b] - the e-mail address is key here. If the Registrant has access to the e-mail address listed, they can simply initiate an intra-registrar transfer to a new provider. Confirmation mails are sent to this e-mail address for approval and transfers normally complete within 7-10 days. Once transferred though, the domain becomes locked for up to 14 days and during this time, you'll be unable to repoint the nameservers to a new host - if you need to.
For the time being, I'd contact Easyspace and log another query with them.
As an aside, if you do a WHOIS lookup on Easyspace's .COM domain, there's a telephone number listed - might be worth trying!
