I've never seen this before and can't find anything in the archives like it ...

We have a potential client whose .org domain has very recently expired (a week ago). They would like to renew it now. Their current host registered it with NetSol, but when they go there to renew it, NetSol says "You cannot renew this domain here because it was registered through a wholesaler. Please contact the wholesaler to renew your domain." They have no idea who the wholesaler might be.

A Whois lookup says this:

Sponsoring Registrar:R63-LROR
Status:CLIENT HOLD

What is R63-LROR? Anyone able to point us in the right direction to help these folks out? TIA.

Sounds like they should get on the phone to NetSol ASAP.

Thanks jomaxx. That's what we recommended earlier this morning, but I'm hoping there's some solution that doesn't involve NetSol's customer service dept. Had too many bad experiences over the years to ever feel good about recommending that!

pleeker:

did you look here [pir.org]? Looks like that's Netsol's handle with the .org registry. (netsol doesn't directly handle .org registrations anymore)

Hope this helps.

Actually I've had terrible luck with their online systems but usually find their phone staff to be very helpful and de-stressing.

It did help, thanks Lisa (and jomaxx).
