Could anybody please recommend a low cost and reliable DNS management service? I have searched Google, but most of them are horrendously expensive - $40 a year per domain. Considering we have around 10 domains, it is going to be extremely expensive :(
If there is no reasonably-priced DNS management-only service, we might be willing to consider transferring our domain names away from GoDaddy. Is there any cheap domain name registar who provides a comprehensive DNS service?
I have tried registering a domain name with NameCheap.com ($8.88/annum) and their service includes DNS management. Appears to be a professional company. Are they reliable? Anybody better than them for a similar price?
When I redirected a domain using Godaddy I found the reverse IP lookup showed over a million domains on one host (their nameserver).
When I've done this with other registrars the reverse lookup shows the destination server as the the host, with only the one or so domains I might have on it. Pair passed this test also.
I'm not technical enough to know any more about this aspect of DNS redirection and reverse IP lookup, but it seemed a factor to me and I thought I'd mention it.
I've just tried one with Pair - they've been around a long time hosting and they're ICAAN accredited now.
Prices for transfers seem to be well above average, although new domains are on par with industry standards.
Probably best to go with a sole DNS provider. A bit of research has let me to find zoneedit offer 5 domain DNS services free per account. It doesnt take much intuition to setup 2 accounts if you have 10 domain names to receive emails at.
