Steps to take in selling a domain name

Hi,

I've never posted in this forum before but wondered if someone could give me feedback on selling domain names. I have developed one site for my business but have a few other names that I'd like to sell. My registrar is register.com and at one time I had one of the names listed at greatdomains.com. I believe these site were affiliated somehow. Well, now I can no longer find my listing (they only offer TLDs for sale) or a way to sign in so I'm looking for alternatives. My name appraised for $10,000 but I don't know if that is valid anymore.

Also, my names used to be "parked" with a message that they were for sale. This is no longer the case and again, my registrar never notified me of any changes.

Can someone tell me what steps to take? I've read that developed sites sell for more. After putting together my business web site over the last year and a half I can see why! Is this the best course to take?

Thanks!

do a whois on your domain names and make sure they are still registered to you. with things changing, I would be wary about it.

domain name appraisals are subjective at best.
business.com selling for 7 million a couple of years ago was just plain stupid. do the math, it would take a profit of $1000 a day for almost 20 years to break even on that investment.

I don't know what value your domain name may have but it is going to be like anything else, it will only be worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

luck,

greatdomains.com had a complte makeover sometime ago, so the old system is no longer in place.

I didnt rate thier valuation model much either.
