I registered a domain with godaddy.com on October 7, 2003. Now I want to change the hosting company. When I go to the place on the godaddy.com site where it says, "Manage your domains" it says I have no domains!
I looked up the domain name in whois and sure enough it IS registered at godaddy.com.
I am freaked out by this. I need to change the hosting company immedieatly!
Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes this is happened to me and others which is why I put the boot in them every chance i get.
It takes phonecalls and unhelpful staff in my experience to get them back.

To begin, I have never had a problem with godaddy and it's help staff. I hate for this to sound like a commerical, but they have been awesome for me.

To answer your concern, I "lost" a domain once. With the help of their staff, we discovered that when I transferred it I accidentally created a second account which contained the new domain. My other 219 domains were safe in my main account. Once this was found, it was a simple matter to log into the accidental account and transfer it back to the main account (transfers within godaddy are free).

My experience with Godaddy has been better than just about every other registrar I've dealt with.

The good news with GoDaddy is that you are able to pick up the phone and call them. An unresponsive registrar can make a problem like this a nightmare, and Godaddy has always had a live person available to wade through the mire.

After recently going through a problem with my domain account at DotRegistrar, might as well also give a thumbs up to a cust serv rep named Ben. He provided excellent assistance and helped me figure out a serious problem, simply by answering my email in a timely manner. I might add that it wasn't the fault of DotRegistrar - it was a mistake on my part.

good luck -

They got this straightened out and sent me an email after about half an hour. Yes I think godaddy is good.

If you register a domain with Godaddy and then register another and by any chance did not login to your account will be set on a new account, if you call them they will merge multiple accounts while you are on the phone.
