Mirror website or domain re-direct?

How to tell the difference

I wonder if someone could assist me identify how to tell the difference between a re-directed website that retains the domain in the browser and a mirror hosted website.

For example www.example.com and www.example.co.uk. I want to make sure the same content is not being hosted in case this trips a duplicate filter.

If you are on Windows, go into DOS window and type ping www.example.com. Then type www.example.co.uk and check if it is the same IP adress.
