Hi colleagues,

Hope one of you will be able to help. I've renewed my domain registration with the local service provider I'm based in Australia).

This morning I discovered that my .com site is down while the .com.au is up and running.

I've been told by my "new domain registrar", that the old one rejected to transfer the domain with no given reason and there is nothing he can do about it.

The company which actually holds the domain is a wholeseller and doesn't deal with public.

I've tried to renew the domain with the reseller who looks after the registration but the registration has failed with the following message:

Domain: export61.com Registration attempt failed: Domain not transferable. Domain status REGISTRAR-HOLD does not allow for transfer.

What should I do? Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Domain status REGISTRAR-HOLD

That usually means the domain expired and was placed on-hold due to non-renewal. Did you allow for this domain to expire?

Domain names which are on-hold can indeed not be transferred to another registrar.

Hi Marcs,

The domain is currently expired Because my new “registrar” didn’t informed me about the problems with the transfer and I was absolutely sure that everything is under control.

However at the date of the initial request for the transfer was made prior to the expiry day.

I’m really confused and have no idea what to do and whom to speak with.

If you dont want to loose it, get active with whoever is holding the domain name right now.

Action is the only way you can retrieve the situation.
Get at it and best of luck.

Most registrars will not allow transfer of a domain within 60 days of renewal date. If it hasn't gone into pending delete its still possible to renew the domain with the holder though there maybe a surcharge but as Mark_A says "get to it quick!"
