I was just looking for some domain names and found 1 that was surprised to see was available.

I better not post it here, but I can sticky it to you...

Just want an opinion on if you think the domain is any good and worth registering.

Domains tend to be very cheap to register (unregistered domains anyway), so I'd say go for it if you think it has value.

That's the thing, I don't know if it has value. :P Mind if I send you a sticky with the domain? Or anyone else want to see it and give there thoughts? ;)

Register it. In the time it takes to ponder whether to register it or not, someone else could discover it and register it. It happens all the time. $8.95 is not that big of an investment, and if it is truly that good, you could always resell it if you decide to go with something else.

A check at archive.org is also worth looking into, if it was a previously registered domain.

Ah ha! Nevermind! I think it's worthless now! It appears I was spelling the word wrong and that's why the domain was available...

It was hillarious.org I was considering registering... (hope that's ok to post) I thought it could have been good for a humor/joke site but it appears the correct spelling is "hilarious" with one "L", so nevermind that idea! lol

Cheers,

It happens to the best of us. When I think I have found a really good name available, I always check and double check the spelling ;) Haven't made a mistake yet tho!

I've made a spelling mistake and failed to catch it before registering. :(

I almost had a heart atack when I discovered a populat word.co.uk was avail. Again spelling error.

Still took it though, sometimes almost correct spellings can be very good domains.

We should probably use a spell checker along when we register and search for names. hhehehehe

I registered names for a client on the basis of his email. Later he asked me to change. Thank God had his email .....! he asked me register second one then! :-)

I donīt register domain.org domains, even if they have good names. Most visitors try to get to your site by typing domain.com , so you were going to give free visitors to your competition. Maybe you would get some free hits from search engines, but not many second time visitors...

.org should also be used only for organizations, so someday all these domains may be taken from you...

A friend of mine wanted to register a domain name that reflected the subject matter: music hits of a certain decade. Only after he paid for it did he notice (it went sorta like this):
somedecade****s.com

And .net. Looking forward to that, actually. People shouldn't have to worry about new TLD's constantly.

you could always still register it and use the site exclusively to cater to hillbilly jokes or maybe as a tribute site to Jed and all his kin.

Me, I don't have time to build the site, but I'm weird enough to think it's a cute idea.

y'all come back now, ya hear.
