DNS CHANGE.. site unavailable

I recently changed my DNS yesterday.. now its 24 hours later, and when i go to the site, i come up with an error message. and at the bottom it says.

Cannot find server or DNS Error

Is this normal when switching DNS?

Nope, Not at all. You might want to double check you settings.

Should i get rid of my URL forwarding settings for the old name servers? maybe that would fix it..
