Where do i stand in the following situation.

We are based in the UK,

We have the domain name brandname.co.uk and our competitor has registered a domain called crandname.co.uk is there anything we can do about it. Do we have a leg to stand on?

Any input greatly appreciated

:)

I'm not very familiar, but for more information check out wipo.org and read about the Madrid Protocol.

The key issue is whether your competitor is trying to deceive customers into thinking that his site/product is really your site/product. If so, you have an unfair competition, "passing off" claim against him. If you have a trademark for your domain name, you've got a trademark infringement claim. It sounds like you really need to speak to an intellectual property attorney who has knowledge about UK law.
