Hi,

I have a site that is listed in dmoz, but the URL is old.
Right now, it redirects to the new URL but that won't be forever.

I tried submitting the URL change form and never got a response, is there anything else I can do ?

Is it ok to try to submit the same url update form once again or is there a chance that the editor would get pissed and delist my site ?

Thanks.

I would recommend sending a gentle reminder by email to the editor of the category that your site is listed in.

It is very importaint that the ODP has the correct url and not a redirecting url or the PR wont fully spill over to your correct page.

You might consider posting the listed URL in your profile. ODP editors are said to drop by these forums on occasion.

Is there anything special I have to do ?
Like placing a certain file into the root of the domain so the editors know that I do in fact own the site.

If you Feedback [dmoz.org] me with the details, I'll take a look at it.

"is there anything I need to do?"

If the current listing is forwarding to the new listing, there is nothing you need to do except for submitting the Update URL request, as it will be clear to the editor that this is the new URL.

A feedback to the closest editor up the chain, if you haven't gotten a response after a week or two would be highly unlikely to hurt, just mentioning that you submitted an update request from X to Y in category Z.

You might consider posting the listed URL in your profile.

If the URL redirects, only the category name is needed. There are tools that will pick up any redirecting URLs. ;)

However, I don't think this forum will benefit from a large number requests to look at ODP categories with maintenance tools. Using the change form (and editor feedback if nothing happens for several weeks) would be the appropriate way of changing the URL.
