Just received in my inbox.... a missive from L$ telling me that I will still receive my 100 "free" clicks every month until Dec 2003, regardless of the fact that I have not registered my credit card (fat chance!). The cut off date of July 11th has been removed.

I was getting ready to post a thread for who has or has not activated their accounts.

I think they saw everybody waiting til the last minute & were worried about having server meltdown as the deadline came up ;)

or maybe they blinked first...

didn't you find it funny that it was signed from Evan Thornley though?

I'm sure he's still working on stuff, but maybe he's trying to trash the company on the way out?? hmmm..... just kidding.

They really didn't have any way out:

To remove all of those who have not signed up would render their "directory" too sparse to meet even for their standards.

I imagine that this move will also mitigate -- to some extent -- any settlements they may have to pay out in the future.

Laisha, I agree with you. I think they are just trying to find a way out, and possibly mitigate their current situation.

We've dropped two 2 of 3 accounts that we have with them, because of the problems between their listings and Ink, on top of paying twice for something.

In my opinion they should refund all those accounts that dropped out after their little escaped in May, but that's just my opinion.

I would have signed up (even at the rate of $0.15 a click) but I could never sign up through those damn emails. Did anybody else have that problem?
