Hello all

Last week I submitted a site to the ODP. I know the editor came and took a look as I found the refering script in the logs.

My question is this. How long wil it take to be included (if accepted). I looked at that last updated date at the bottom of the page it was after later than the date of the editor visting.

I know these things are waiting games, it is just i am getting hassle to provide information.

Cheers

If you see the editunrev2.cgi in your logs and you are not in the cat your site is either on hold for more content, deleted, or being moved to a new catagory. From my experience it is rare that you will see that referer in your logs and not be listed almost instantly if excepted to that specific cat (poor discriptions can also hold you up). You will not show up in their search until that is updated. Wait until the search has updated (do a search and at the bottom of the page it will tell you date of search update), then look for your site. You might have been switched to a new cat. One of my sites has been on hold for 6 months. They say they are waiting on content to include it.

Thanks for the reply Korkus.

editunrev2.cgi is what appears in the logs.

Do you have any suggestions WRT determining which if the 3 options you mentioned it is likely to be.

Is there anything I can do to expedite the process or improve my chances. I would guess at adding more content in the form of information related to the site/products?

Cheers

There really isn't anything you can do to expedite the process. If you submitted to them last week and were already reviewed, be grateful.

As long as you are absolutely sure you submitted to the correct category and have content (No under construction signs- no pages full of banners, that kind of thing), then relax.

One common error however is submission to the wrong cat. Check the "Description" of the cat you submitted to, to be absolutely sure it was the correct one.

Also, be patient, as this SEO thing, I've discovered lately, is a process that works itself out over months, not days or weeks.
