Another search engine on tv. Tried it and the results were not even close. Why do they spend money to advertise when they have problems? Oh well. Of coarse, only Google has passed the tests I use, maybe I'm just weird. It is exciting to see new search engines trying to get into the market and I hope they do well. They apparently check all submissions with a person and the search is of their directory. Oh yes, pay $25 for quick review of your submission. I wonder if they really were the first search directory on the net though as they claim. Does anyone know who else could claim that title. They started in 94 according to their homepage.

What would make up the ultimate serch engine? What would people like to see? Most net surfers I have talked to have told me they don't really care. They just follow old habits and such. What are the next steps in search evolution?

Only Yahoo comes close to the age of Galaxy. They are quite old. They never did get the traffic though. I've had some listings in Galaxy for years and they average 1-2 referrals a week.

What would it take? Already have it: Altavista, don't change a thing.

>Yahoo comes close to the age of Galaxy
Galaxy was just starting to gain some general recognition when Digital released Altavista. They were eclipsed, broad-sided.... never recovered the momentum. New TV ads must mean some VC money has moved in.

<strike>Altavista</strike> replace w/ Raging (and set those preferences)
