They got my application and I got the auto-responder, but it has been over a week and haven't heard on if I'm in or not, is this an unusually long amount of time?

Not really. The amount of time you may wait varies depending upon the length of the queue, which metas are currently on "vacation," what else they have to take care of, and what category it is.
I would wait another week or so. If you hear nothing, I would re-apply, mentioning in the application that you applied on xx/xx/00, just in case your original application is still in the queue.
