Yet another category question

What bearing does odp category have on listing w/search engines?

Hi All,

Have been reading all the submission guidelines and tips...understand the importance of chosing the right category (although still haven't figured out where I belong!), but have this question: what bearing does the ODP category have on how you are listed/found by search engines like Google?

I don't even know if that is a reasonable question to ask or not, but after wrangling w/this category seletion process, found myself wondering and so thought I'd ask. Any import will be greatly appreciated. TIA

The editor reviewing your site will write the description to fit the category they are editing for.

Also if you are in a global category you seem to get a better position for global engines.
