ODP categories needing editors

I have several regional sites that I submitted to ODP. A few have been added over the last year and some have not. Almost all of the categories state that it needs and 'editor'. These sites are similar in structure but very different and unique content and all have been accepted by other SE's. I have re-submitted these sites every couple of months but to no avail.

My question is, if a category needs an editor, will my listing ever get reviewed?

All listings eventually get reviewed, some just faster than others. Repeated submission to the same category every month or so, as seems to be a suggested method in various places is not a help either.

If an editor hasn't seen a site yet, then another submision won't help, and if there are 100 people trying to get sites listed in a category, and they ALL submit once a month, it will really take forever to get to the sites at the end of the queue.

What skibum said is very true. In some lower regional categories where there are no active editors unreviewed sites are piling up basically due to resubmissions.

You might look at upper level categories to find whether there is an active editor, and send him/her a polite email with details of your submission, asking wether your site has been rejected for some reasons or is just waiting in the unrevieweds queue.

On the other hand, you could consider becoming an editor for one of the local categories needing editors and help keeping it comprehensive and updated :)
