Anyone care to share their experience with WordPress directory plugins?

I've been looking at a number of scripts, some that integrate with WordPress.

It's interesting how they work, using WP's registration process to manage user additions to their directories.

I've also been looking at scripts that are NOT integrated into WP BUT that offer . . or suggest they can be integrated.

Among the WP integrated scripts some say their ability to scale is ~unlimited. I somewhat believe the assertion because scalability is more a function of MySQL and DB optimization than it's a function of the script (assuming that it's well coded.)

Anyone care to share their experience with directory scripts that are brought to market as WP plugins?

Sure take a look at Gravity View, this works with Gravity Forms plugin. It needs elements recoding to be SE friendlier but otherwise works pretty well. Fully integrates with WP

@ seoskunk - Any experience + input into how GV scales (categ>sub-cat>sub-cat>uber-local/zip) AND how well it handles user registrations and user updates of data?

Most of the directory plugins are business directories. It's harder to find a standard link directory plugin. I just upgraded to the paid version of Simple Link Directory plugin. It's pretty lite weight compared to a stand alone directory script but it would work nice for a small niche directory.

It is responsive for mobile. The live search function appears decent but I have not added a bunch of listings yet so not tested under an index of any size. Instructions are a mess. They try, but this is Wordpress which is a mess.
