BOTW links are nofollow

Just found out all of my sponsored links on top of a category page are listed nofollow.

I can't remember when I checked last time but was this always the case with BOTW?

At least these nofollow links add credibility to the backlink profile. Having 20%-30% nofollow links is a good idea.
