Hi, before I take the plunge and submit to the yahoo directory I have a query.

Can Yahoo change the category I select, If I select a reasonable category with say 50 listings can they put me in a 200 listing category instead - I suppose they can but are they likely to do this?

On a second note, I reckon I need 5-10 clicks per day to justify the cost - what sort of clicks do people get from the directory - are they in this ballpark at all?

cheers

Yahoo! can do whatever they want with the listing when it is submitted since the fee is for the editors time to review the site, title, description and category to which the site was submitted. 5-10 clicks a day? I'd say not likely but it's going to depend on the category.

thanks that is very interesting - if something like teh Yahoo directory cannot deliver even 5 clicks a day then I think it is pretty pointless.

Thanks again.

I get about 10/day, even though it's at the bottom (probably better than the middle), but it's in a category with only about 10 other sites and it still has the "new" sign next to it. I'm waiting for the data to spread to the international directories (takes about 8 days) - not that this will bring in a lot more traffic, but they're certainly good links to have whether you see an immediate effect in terms of traffic or not.

yes, there have been a lot of discussion about does it pass PR ect, but really the traffic numbers speak for themselves I think - any other traffic quotes?

cheers.
