Hi all,

I want to permanently *REMOVE* a site from DMOZ. There doesn't seem to any way to do this on their site and no means to contact them. Can it be done, and if so, how does one go about it?

Any help gratefully appreciated.
TIA

Any site will be removed when it is reviewed and (in the judgment of the reviewing editor) it no longer provides unique content for surfers.

If you think a listing doesn't conform to ODP standards, you can click on "update URL" and explain what you think could be done.

Never mind whether it's your site or not, we won't! (That is, you can do anything for your competitor's site that you can do for your own site. The suggestions are for surfers, not webmasters, and you can make suggestions only in your capacity as surfer.)

If the site meets ODP guidelines then it stays listed.

There is no remove function. Who should we listen to for removal instructions; the webmaster, the company owner, the shareholders, a dissatisfied customer, the Pope -- what if they all disagree?

There is no removal procedure other than the site being no longer listable.

But if it's a site you have control over and you don't want it listed because you want to move the listing to a different URL, you can accomplish this by redirecting the old URL to the new one, or by posting "This site has moved to [newURL.com"...] on the old one, or by just deleting the old one, and then submitting a URL update form. URL updates are handled differently than site suggestions and get processed much quicker.
