we are currently working in a market research company. The company is a reputable company with several overseas office in asia region including china, Hong Kong, Singapore, Autstralia, and an affiliation with US company.
Her biggest problem is:
Due to our company is a reputable and not a small company, our boss believe our site must get listed in DMOZ very quick. However, she submtit the site several months without any success. Boss is pressing her and said she is not doing a good job.
Boss disagree that the only thing we can do is to wait. How can we explain to him?

Now, all of them are either futile or counterproductive; some could even have catastrophic effects.
Oh, boss wants some CONSTRUCTIVE action? Tell boss to shell out the money to buy quick reviews in directories that offer that service -- Yahoo! springs to mind, but there are many others.
If boss doesn't want his information garbled by intermediaries, boss is welcome to visit the ODP-editor-supported forum, where people whom he cannot browbeat, and who ARE ODP administrators, will tell him the simple unvarnished truth. Among the simple truths he can hear is -- we don't review "big company sites" first. So his logic is rotten from the ground up.
There is no guarantee that he will like what he hears -- but that's always a problem when you're dealing with people you can't coerce.
Some might think it a little extreme for a whole company to change industries just to get a DMOZ listing, but it's all a matter of what's most important. ;)
And even for the world's first vacuum-ready shark repellent manufacturer, who knows?
Tell your boss to let a thousand flowers bloom, and the bees will come -- if he doesn't spray insecticide. Beyond that, it's all divination. And back when we were trying status reports, even the online psychics used to ask for them.
