Bad idea to submit banned site to dmoz?

If I have a site that may have been banned from Google but is awaiting reinclusion, is it probably not a good idea to submit it to dmoz.org or yahoo directory until it's reincluded by Google? I'm not sure if the dmoz editors check to see if a site is banned from any search engines.

My logic here is getting the site accepted into dmoz might help speed up reinclusion into Google.

No, they don't --and they don't care. They only care if sites meet ODP's own criteria for inclusion.

It may or may not help, but since you use the expression "speed up"... You should be aware that it can take quite a while (many months or even years) to get listed; it would not be a wise idea to count on an ODP listing for Google reinclusion!

If it has content that would add value to a category, then DMOZ will most likely list it. I don't ever think I have checked if a site was banned in any search engine before listing it...

Depends if it's commericial too - or if the editor feels in a good mood. Or not. That's dmoz for you.
