Free directory software(php)?

Hi all,

I'm looking to start a small directory for my local area and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any php software that...

- is free
- creates reasonable code for spidering
- easy to use/maintain

I don't know of any decent free directory software unless you write your own. Basically you will get what you pay for. Cheap will probably be rough, ready and buggy.
A couple of hundred bucks will get you a fantastic ready to roll script.
