NBCi and RealNetworks co-brand

The reworked home page is a co-branded version of the NBCi site containing a RealNetworks module that features links to the Real.com Guide... -article here [internetnews.com]

NBCi has been working hard lately. They've also introduced an affiliate program with an average payout of .04 CPC.

That reworked page is *so* busy.

I don't know what to make of NBCi. On the one hand, I like how they allow one to quickly change site descriptions, on the other, it is search engine starting out when many other search engines that have been in the business for a long time are financially falling apart. Are investors going to pull out from them unexpectedly, siting "Search engines are not a good investment" ?

I just don't know.

Didn't NBC gain most or all of the old Snap in exchange for network air time? Like MSN, I don't think that this one has the same degree of exposure to the market as those using VC/IPO money.

James, were these sites commercial or nonprofit?

Yes and I didn't even know anything about it till I took rc's advice to start at NBCi (cuz he own's stock in it I think) and optimize my directory listings. One of my domains got bumped up. I really never give much attention to NBCi but I usually submit to 'em.
