Whoops! Maybe?

I just submitted my directory to another and got rejected. They said it was because my "Visit Site" link uses a 302 redirect. Duh?
I don't understand. The rejecters said they would list my site if I changed the redirect to a 301.

Does anyone know what this means and what the implications are?

Apparently it is not good practice. How I go about changing the redirect from 302 to 301 is beyond me at the moment.

Look in the Google forum here.

There are several threads each with many hundreds of postings through March and April all complaining that because someone linked to them with a 302 redirect Google completely messed up their listing.

Why do you need a redirect at all? What has happened to good old the other site type links?
