I have signed up with the SEOTI service that lets you know when DMOZ accepts a site.
I have one site that was submitted to DMOZ finally accepted after a year. Another that was submitted about 6 months ago was just accepted.
Then I received 4 other notices, all of which were already in DMOZ.
Anyone else getting several notices?
Just wondering what's going on--if DMOZ is finally cleaning up their submissions or what?
If they do it via the RDF, it's very efficient, and more power to them.
I suspect they (or at least, many of their competitors) do it by constantly probing the ODP search function, keeping it useless for real surfers. (And in that case, may they die of painful, debilitating, socially contemptible diseases!)
If the latter, perhaps the search just got updated for the first time in months, or they just got through to the latest search?
In either case, I think you're seeing a batching phenomenon, not a change in editing rate or style.
