I noticed today, however, a site listed in both the main category listing, and two seperate sub-categories of that category. The URLs were slightly different (one refered to www.blueWidgets.com, another to www.bluewidgets.com/azure), but the site is clearly the same site with multiple listings.
To further add to my confusion, the "section" of this site that is listed in the subcategory is not a significant deviation from what the rest of the site is about. In other words, it's not as if this other section serves as en entirely different resource. The whole site is about blue widgets.
I know many current DMOZ editors post here and wondered if anyone could shed some light on whether my understanding of DMOZ listing is flawed. Would a situation like this be the result of an Editor's choice to give the site two listings? And if so, would that be a decision made entirely on the editor's own, or would the site have been submitted, and accepted, twice?
I'm not in any way being critical of the ODP. I'm just trying to understand the process a little better.
