Dmoz Forums (how to get activated)

I have tried to post my http link in dmoz a number of times. I have waited 3 or 4 months. I am still not listed. I thought i would try get my status by using their forums however i have an account but it tells me
"Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation"

How long does it take to get activated?

5 minutes or forever. It all depends. It's a volunteer network of editors. So if they are relatively inactive and have a huge backlog of sites, you may never get in.

You have to reply to the confirmation email in order to activate your account. Check your spam folder.

What really kills me is that (not in this case) people think just because the submit to dmoz, that they automatically get in. From time to time, I'll jump into the submisson check forum and just agonize over how people
don't pay attention to the posting rules.

The editors would be much more effective if people only paid attention.

Oh yeah, that and the perceived arrogance of the editors....that's a killer also.

I have yet to receive the activation email. I have not registered for two accounts and have not rec'vd activation email on either one.

At the most, a couple of minutes. You either had a typo in your email or your spam filter got it.

Ditto. If you entered a valid email and didn't get a notification in 10-20 minutes it was probably filtered by your mail/security software. The forum sign-up is automated and does not require an editors approval.
