Yahoo Directory- Should I Resubmit?

One month ago, I used the free submit option to submit my site to a non commercial category. My site is a free, content rich informational site.

I understand that these free listings can take a very long time, but I read an seo article that suggested that you should resubmit after 4 weeks if not listed. This goes against my grain somewhat, because I know this would hurt in DMOZ- not sure about Yahoo.

Would this be a good idea in the Yahoo directory?

I would wait 90 days, and then email them, after that, place a call. Document everything that you can.

Yahoo suggests resubmiting every four to six weeks, so that is what you should do.

Thanks for the reply.

I may decide to pay for Yahoo Express listing, even though I'm submitting to a "non commercial" area. This category has a Pagerank of 7, and only 5 other sites. Its definately worth the investment.

Will I be charged annually, even though this area accepts free listings? I heard that these non commercial areas only charge a one time $299 fee, vs. yearly fees.

Any thoughts on this?

Personally, I have never done a non-commerical submission via Yahoo!...best to review the terms before submitting. My guess is if you submit to a free category, it won't ask for a credit card. If you submit a non-commercial site in a commercial category, you run the risk of rejection.

I submitted to a non-commercial category and paid my yearly fee. When the year was up, they asked for the renewal fee. I didn't renew, but my listing was still there last time I checked - and it's been several years now.

I've heard reports of the same from others, but don't know if this is the rule or exception.

I would suggest resubmitting using the Standard Submit option. A deeplink from a commercial site was resubmitted on 10/21 - it was reviewed and added to 2 separate topical categories on 10/28.

Will an informational site with adsense be considered as non-commercial?

If you're going for a free listing, I'd take Adsense off, though I don't think it will change an informational site to a commercial one from a category POV.
