do you still get traffic from GoGuides?

I was following the near collapse of GoGuides a while back as I am an editor and was interested to see what happened, but I don't remember what DID happen in the end. They were for sale, but I don't know if they got bought or what...

Did the amount of traffic they send out get affected?

The reason I ask is that I got an email from them recently plugging a new PPC engine they have launched called Links2Go and I was wondering if GoGuides is still a viable source of traffic and would it be worth paying for on a PPC basis?

They have a free trial, $10 worth of credit. I signed up, and haven't received a single hit. YRMV, so you might as well try it for free.

I'm listed there but haven't received a hit from them in months.

As far as I know they never got bought but continued with just one of the original founding members still running it.

The original database went to Skaffe.com, which is where most of the rest of the founding members went, and which has expanded with additional languages. I do receive visits via the Skaffe Directory and they still offer free listings as well as paid express review submissions.

A bit disingenuous, I may be wrong but if my research is correct, the writer of the above, zihuarob, is part of the management of Skaffe.

As such, it would perhaps have been wiser to have declared an interest :(

Perhaps there ate two zihuarob's in cyberspace :)
