Free Submissions @ GoGuides

I read in other forums that the free submit option has been turned on at GoGuides.

I e-mailed Team Support about this I was informed the free option was made temporarily available (for a few days) in a show of good faith for the listings which were lost in the recent database upgrade. They are hoping the sites will be resubmitted and they expect no more loss of data and their updates are completed.

Good news for anyone who wants to get their sites listed in the Directory... Nice Christmas gift!

They do not appear to be under new ownership

Whois shows same guy as owner. "Admin Name:Robert Barger"

I doubt that we'll get into ownership issues, but why look a gift horse in the mouth?

It really appears to be a good faith move, and I wish they'd keep it going 'til the first of the year or maybe a little bit after.

That would give a chance for a little "viral" exposure and maybe picking up some new editors. People are sure to spread the word by email lists they participate in.

Hi,

Is the free submission still available? I took a look at go.com but couldn't see a submit link anywhere.

Free submission does seem to be on, but, in their own words, "Expect a lengthily delay".

I do expect a lengthily delay or rather hope for that. ;)

Just had a look at GoGuides. Free submission seems to have ended.

Can't fault these guys, I submitted a site about 7 days ago and it's in the database

Good luck to Goguides for a service like that especially when it was on the free submission

> back to 39.99 per review.

Or you can become an editor, helping edit in lieu of paying for submissions you believe would improve that particular directory.

The 'become an editor' switch remains off at the moment, if I recall correctly, but that should be changing in the near future so you can also check back.

Just a thought: use, modify, discard, as you elect.

I am not sure what is going on but it appears the free submission is still up and running.

It could have been down temperarily due to maintanance of something like that.

I've just been back to try again (tried a few different categories) and they are definately asking for the $39.99 fee.

Maybe you got lucky with your category?
