I am trying to submit a site to DMOZ. I go to the category (5 levels down), click 'suggest a site'... there is no submission form.

I just get the long page of detail about how to submit a site but no form. Is it just me or can anyone else not see the submission form?

I'm on Win XP with IE6.

Just checked and I'm seeing it no problem.

You need to click on suggest URL in the top right of the page. The page you get should begin Submit a Site to the Open Directory. Then there's a big yellow box with an example and below that (scroll down) areas for your site url, title and description.

Err.. I did all that.
I have submitted a dozen or so sites before. I find the category, click submit, complete the form.

But now, today, no form!

I scrolled up and down several times wondering if I have missed something - but no form.

Whats going on?!

Some categories don't permit suggestions.

You have to make the suggestion in a subcategory.

Failing that, report the error at the place WebmasterWorld doesn't let us mention.

Hmm. It's fine from here in Ireland.

It sounds as if you might be seeing [dmoz.org...] .

The url you should be pointed to is
h**p://www.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/add.cgi?where=path

I get redirected to the html page if where has no value.

The value for where is exactly what appears after h**p://www.dmoz.org/ in the url of the page you wish to submit to, with no leading / but with a closing one. You might be able to go direct to the page by constructing the url by hand.

Ok, I am being re-directed to [dmoz.org...]

The category page from which I am selecting 'suggest url' is 5 levels deep. Somthing like:
Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Industrial_Supply/...../..../

This is not a high level cat at all.

When I try selecting a completely random category I get the form.

Ok, I see that. You're getting redirected for everything in that category.

I'd take Victor's suggestion and report it as an error.

revised I changed a setting that might have been erroneously set, so submissions might work again now-- this doesn't appear to have been a directory-wide problem.

According to choster's posting this seems to have been caused by a transient problem, but I'd like to note the usual reason for getting redirected to add.html: The category does not exist anymore (on the editor server) under this exact name (i.e. it has recently been moved or renamed), and the server that you got the "Suggest URL" link from (either the public dmoz.org server, the Google directory or another ODP data user) has not yet been updated with the category name change.
