anyways, my question is... how do i get archive.org to archive my site? according to the faqs, the sites has to be known to alexa. well, my site is. if i do a search for it on alexa, i see it. it's been this way for months.
additionally, i saw my site yesterday on archive.org... it was dated from feburary... today, i don't see it. this happens quite a bit on archive.org. one day, a site'll be there, the next day, it won't. i would like for my site to be archived - not in a constant state of limbo between archival and not. if alexa isn't enough, what is?
Normally, archive.org displays ONLY site archives that are a year old. They get their data from alexa. As a result, the fact that your site showed up there, listed with a February date, is an anomaly.
A lot of folks don't like having their sites archived, but it comes in real handy in copyright disputes.

Jim, I thought they always had this 6 to 12 month lag?

I had used archive.org when someone stole my copyright, and at the time, it was from a page six months earlier. And their FAQ also says six months:
Wayback does not add pages less than 6 months after they are collected. Updates can take up to 12 months in some cases.
jdMorgan is probably right that it is just a database issue right now.
And I am happy to have my site archived too, as I have used them when people have stolen my copyright.
