alexa and dmoz

i thought alexa used zeal.com's directory as an alternative to dmoz, but... in doing a search for my site, and then clicking on site info, that doesn't seem to be the case... specifically, my sites description is the exact same description that dmoz uses for my site, and... the catagory is the exact same, as well.

of course, that said, you can click on site info for a site that isn't in the dmoz, as well. although in this case, there is no description, nor is there a catagory.

also, some sites in the alexa database have screenshots of the sites associated with them. mine doesn't. is there any way i could get a screenshot for my site associated with the alexa database? (and there isn't really any big reason for this - i think it'd be cool, just as i think it'd be cool for my site to be cooled, hehe :))

Alexa is using the dmoz directory, although its main search results are from Google (hence sites come up in the search that aren't listed in dmoz). It orders dmoz categories by traffic rank, just as Google orders them by PageRank.

So combine alexa with google, you can get good experience about a website.

It seems to be missing big chucks of Dmoz, nevertheless, and also seems to have some sites that aren't in Dmoz in its directory. How does that work?

Found my site in one cat buried on page 3 with no user rating, but after checking some related cats (not even there!) my guess is that none of the people in my niche even have the alexa toolbar and thus it is invisible to alexa.
