See message 11 of this thread:

[webmasterworld.com...]

confirmed by the presence of new sites on the public side that have been added only in the last 24 hours.

Is this worthy of front page news? It certainly affects a lot of webmasters reading here.

Its a massive update through-out, and i can quite happily say good stuff to them.

When will G crawl and update the directory, i can see some major changes once the weight of the ODP new update is put into the algo!

Copying parts of a posting from the official ODP forum:

-----------------------------------------------------------

Official staff announcement:

"All three frontend servers have now been updated. Their data should never be more than a week out of date, compared to editors.dmoz.org. Pages will normally be refreshed when they're more than four days old."

It's major news, but as far as google is concerned as far as I can tell they've been crawling editors.dmoz.org anyway, or at least crawling their own cache of the latest .rdf dump.
