No editor on category and I've waited 8 months!

My category on DMOZ has no editor and there has been no movment in the category since I submitted my site 8 months ago.

I applied to become the editor myself but was declined. What should I do?

Forget it and work on other links. Eventually your site may get indexed. 8 months is not unusual, depending on the cat.

Basically it's like this: nobody has a right to get indexed by the ODP. You don't pay them, they don't promise to index all the web.

It's absolutely useless to join the army of webmasters who are stuck in raging against the ODP, because their site didn't get listed. There are more fruitful ways of spending one's time.

look upwards in the directory structure until you find an editor in a higher level and perhaps contact them by email if it is possible.

I would probably do that after this length of time.

You could also ask specifically about your site in the ODP public forum.

Well, that's what it looked like the first time I read it...
