Hi
I've just spotted that one of our top-performing sites has dropped to no. 8 on Google SERPs.

It has been incredibly static at no. 5/6 for over 18 months.

Its been in Dmoz for over 2 years. I just checked and we're not listed with Dmoz (or Google) anymore.

Very credible legacy site - no changes made in last 6 months.

Any clues as to why we've disappeared from dmoz?
TIA

Hi Shak

"No ODP results found" when searching for "www.domain.com" & "domain".

There is an ed - I'll email him but it still seems really weird?

Its a decent informational site with lots of good content. Theres a prominent link on every page to an ecommerce site. The ecommerce site is also in dmoz.

Thats hardly enuf of a reason though is it after 2 years?

(All our other - unrelated - dmoz entries are fine)

The ecommerce site is also in dmoz.

That's probably why it was deleted.

The editor noticed that the site was crosslinked to the ecommerce site. If the ecommerce site is already appropriately listed in the directory then the site in question is removed.

I hope I am reading what you wrote correctly. If you care to elaborate as to which categories the sites was/were listed in I might be able to explain a bit better.

I didn't think this forum was here to troubleshoot individual sites' problems with ODP.

I agree Kcipton. Thats against TOS I think synergy.

The reason I posted was not because I was moaning but it just seems really weird because of the genuine quality of the site dropped and I read about a similar occurence elsewhere this pm but can't find it now.

If there was heavy X-linking, that would be fine but we're talking about 1 link on a page of 80 links to the ecommerce site. I don't think thats it.

Is anyone aware of anything else it might have been?
(I've emailed the ed)

By all means Johnser go to the forum we can't mention. Be careful what you say or those other-unrelated-sites will suffer a sudden fall as well.;)

^ What kind of ridiculous statement is that? This forum is not the place for you to disrespect DMOZ.

There are other places on the Internet where you can misbehave.

disrespect DMOZ

ROFLMAOWhilstMonkeysAreSimultaneouslyFlyingOutOfMyButt!:)
In the first place, I was not talking about DMOZ, I was talking about <snip>. <snip> has done nothing to earn my respect. Quite the contrary, in fact.
And if you are an upper level DMOZ type it can be your private stomping ground for misbehaving (along with the unOpen Directory itself).
