Submitted to ODP category without editor

can I hold a hope?

The ODP category where I submitted my site has no editor, and the upper one shows blanks where editor name is placed.
I selected the "best fit" category, should I wait indefinitely or there is another option?

Thanks, Gus.

All categories have editors who can edit in them. Just submit your site to the proper category.

If you want to see your interest area edited then apply to be an editor.

It says: 'Volunteer to edit this category'.
I submitted two months ago.

What do you mean by "submitted"? You "apply" to be an editor, you do not use the submission form, which is for adding website URLs.

"What happens with sites submitted in this situation?"

They wait until someone volunteers to review them. If no one cares about the topic enough to edit it, it doesn't get edited. Perfect system.

IN this situation, I find the best way to deal with it is to find an upper category, or similar one, and contact the editor directly and plead.

i disagree that editors in upper categories will automatcially fill the void of empty lower categories. Simply not my experience. My experience is no editor in exact categroy, then forget it unless you contact and upper level cat editor directly.

No point in trying to become and editor at the moment either. I have been applying for weeks, my applciation keeps bouncing on their server.

I know someone who just recently applied and was notified of being accepted. Commercial category.

I applied for editor but I cannot get my confirmation email to go through. Any suggestions?

Can't have been since the upgrades started a few weeks ago.

She told me about it yesterday but didn't say when it was that she applied.

based on an experience of how many categories?

There are six senior editors listed at the top level of Shopping but no sites listed at that level. There are eleven senior editors listed at the top level of Business but no sites listed at that level. There are nineteen senior editors listed at the top level of Regional and fourteen sites listed at that level. Where do you think they edit if they never visit subcategories?

It must be a really easy life to be a senior editor with so little work to do... ;)
