My site got indexed in DMOZ in Dutch! My site is in English though it also has a Dutch translation.
I submitted it to the appropriate category in English though.
Anyways what has been happening is that when I do a link popularity check Alta Vista has a staggering amount of link for my site. When I had a closer look those links are all from totally unrelated sites that use Dmoz on their site. They are utterly useless and I was wondering if those links can be a bad thing for search engine placement.
Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Webmaster submits site with Dutch title or description (to an English category.) The editor probably will not review it at all...just send it to the Dutch category (if they recognize Dutch) or the Misplaced/World category (where our polymaths sort them out.)
If you want quick and thorough service on multilingual sites, we recommend you submit to each language category with a title and description only in the appropriate language. (Yes, this is a recognized and authorized exception to the "only submit to the ONE most appropriate site" rule.)
