Visit from editors.dmoz.org means good things?

I've recieved a visit from
editors.dmoz.org:8080/editors/editunrev2.cgi
within 10 hours of applying. Is that a standard check, or could it mean I'm actually already beeing reviewed and might be included soon?

It means that an editor has looked at your site. There is, of course, no guarantee that he or she did anything with your submission. It could have been left in the unreviewed pool for another look, moved to a more appropriate category etc.

It's also worth bearing in mind that if you don't see your site on DMOZ at present, it doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't been accepted.

Most categoriess I've seen are awaiting update - editors have added plenty of sites to them, but they haven't been put live yet. I understand we are not too far off though.

But one of the possible explanations can be the one you want - that someone did look at your site and approve it. You just won't know for sure until you have checked out editors.dmoz.org thoroughly (while you can still reach it) or, if it is not there, simply by waiting for the public release.

For example, I had no luck at submitting in the global business level for lack of an editor in the 2-3 likely categories that I tried, so I tried a regional submission at state level. The public version did not go down to suburbs, so I submitted at state level. I have found they have since added suburbs and there I am at a suburban level.

So, in my case, it was "good". YMMV.
