I have looked around WebmasterWorld and cant find a list of half decent dir's. I have submission campaing, but I find more sites requiring a link back that anything else. Any chance of a link to a suitable thread or a list

Cheers

Have you looked in dmoz.org for categories of directories in your field?

Why don't you want to link back? If you put all your outgoing links on a separate links page then you limit the 'loss' of Google PageRank (actually the PageRank you pass on elsewhere rather than rechannelling it back into your own site). There aren't many decent quality all-purpose directories - most just don't have enough PR to attract quality submissions and don't have enough manpower to build them up.

The common ones that I can think of include dmoz, Yahoo, Zeal/Looksmart, joeant, goguides, gimpsy, greatbritishpages. Also search around for niche directories in your field by looking to see who links to your competitors.

Its not that I dont want to link back. I am a middle man today. I wont have access (another issue) to put the links up.
